The Last Alaskans

Take an inside look at the lives of some of the few remaining Alaskans permitted to dwell within the 19 million acres of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge – one of the most remote areas in the country.</p><p>Surviving 400 miles away from civilization, the four isolated families featured in the series must combat harsh arctic conditions and aggressive wildlife without the aid of modern day luxuries and conveniences.

Whether they are fighting to stay alive during the unforgiving minus 50 degree winter or having their cabin ransacked by a wild bear, Heimo, Bob, Ray, Tyler and their families provide a raw and unbiased exploration into the unique rituals of life in Alaska’s untouched wilderness.

With less than 100 years until the remaining permits expire and no human presence, the series delves deep into a world that would otherwise be forever lost in history.
